The Rare Weaves: Kazak collection draws inspiration from antique patterns. This collection is a nod to the history of Caucasian Armenian carpet weaving. Each rug is hand-made using the nomadic style wool warp and wept foundation of high-quality Armenian wool. The Kazak designs hail from the western region of Armenia. The collection offers rugs in various sizes, each featuring vibrant colors and bold, archetypal designs. Each rug is one-of-a-kind and made outside of Yerevan, Armenia.
A double sunburst Kazak weave rug in blue, this Eagle Kazak rug has a double sunburst design also seen in the Chelaberd Kazak . This design features dramatic sunburst medallions, a common tribal pattern of Caucasian rugs. This rug was hand knotted of 100% Armenian wool on a wool foundation and adorned with a functional wool tassel which would be used to hold onto the rug while it was beaten clean. The Kazak weave used for this rug has a plush pile height around a third of an inch. The colors used in this rug are quite traditional, with a field color of magnificent blue with design and border colors in ruby red, light green, ivory and beige. Eagle Kazak Cobalt is available in size 5x7 with a large amount of inventory in stock. This rug would be a wonderful rug for an entryway, or accent in a living room, library, or home office.

Our rugs are designed and photographed in the 8x10 size. If you are considering any other size, the design and/or scale will vary from this standard. Please reach out to our rug experts if you would like more information on a particular design in a specific size.
Our extremely handmade rugs may be of a slightly different size (up to 3 inches). This is due to the beautiful hand-knotted and hand-tufted nature of our rugs.
Vacuum regularly. Loose threads should be trimmed with a scissor (do not pull!). Rug protectors are recommended. If your new rug is exposed to the sun, it is a good idea to rotate regularly to prevent uneven wear. Blot spills with a clean towel (white is best). Cleaning the entire rug should be handled by a professional rug cleaning service.

Rug pads protect the foundation of your hand knotted rug from wear and dirt, and help to preserve the value of your area rug investment. A rug pad helps your rug to lay flat, and helps to prevent slip and trip hazards from buckles in the rug. Rug pads are nonreturnable.
